Blackthorn Arena is an action-RPG developed by PersonaeGame Studio. In this game, you will roleplay the master of Blackthorn Arena, who aims to bring your family’s glory and honor back. He would try to do so by leading and training slaves into strong gladiators. The trained gladiators will then fight for you in the arena. The game is set in the fantasy world of classic matches,  and you will face not only gladiators but also more than 30 kinds of mythical creatures in 10 different areas. BLackthorn Arena also employs tycoon gameplay, requiring you to not only train your gladiator but managing your coliseum as well. Every in money rewards that you gained from fighting in other areas can be used to improve equipment and upgrade your arena.

Blackthorn Arena does not give you your gladiators at the beginning of the game.  You need to buy slaves with potential and train them. You need to manage and monitor their attributions, skills, and talents. You also need to gear them up with the best weapons. The game allows you to build your champion through the complex RPG character build system. With this, you can choose the best armament among six major attributes and six weapon types. You can then combine more than 100 combat skills to build a unique class. You can also develop a personality trait throughout your slave's career.

The game combat play here in Blackthorn Arena takes place in real-time. However, you will have the power to do a tactical pause to issue command switches between characters or executes other technique movements. Bear in mind that you can command only one gladiator during battle arena fights as the other gladiators will automatically fight on their own. Although, you can always edit your gladiators' combat AI to appropriately act on different situations. 

As the master of your arena, you should actively hold and deal with events, such as organizing battle fights. In doing so, you will earn extra income that could help a lot in improving your gladiators, equipment, weapon, and the arena itself.
